OpenPGP with Sequoia 'sq'

Speaker: malte

Track: MiniDebConf Hamburg

Type: Long talk

Room: Dock Europe Seminarraum

Time: May 03 (Sat): 15:25

Duration: 0:45

‘sq’ is the cli-tool of Sequioa PGP, which implements the OpenPGP standard. ‘sq’ can do (most) of the things gpg can do, but in a different - hopefully more accessible - way. This talk will give a (short) introduction into ‘sq’ and the other tools of Sequoia PGP. The main focus however will be the areas where Sequoia PGP solves problems differently from gpg: how authentication is handled and - by extension - working with the Web-of-Trust. There will be a detour on how you can think about the core of the Web-of-Trust (spoiler: it’s not trust).

Bring your questions! This talk is meant to be only half a talk, the other half an improvised workshop.
